Okay, another sprint behind, another leap towards the goal! The new word count is...(bum bum bum!) 13,254!
Well, I was excited to see it anyway.
So, I think that I can say I write at about 1000 words for every thirty minutes if I am doing only that (no Internet, no phone, nothing to distract). But, as it goes, I can only get myself focused enough to produce that kind of quantity in small bursts and with some prepping. But when it's over, you feel pretty good.
Until you remember you still have no plot. :/
But, that's okay, it will come. Tonight, before I write again, I'm going to try a really basic exercise to get some ideas flowing: I'm going to ask my characters what they want more than anything else. How simple, right?! But I can't even claim credit for that idea - found it on the site.
Well, back to reality.
